Epoxy floor coating installers apply high build systems that resist chemicals, impact and heavy traffic.

Epoxy floor coating installers apply the standard high build, high performance industrial coating. Systems come in a range of finishes and non-slip levels, and protect against splashes and spills of process chemicals, caustic cleaners, oils, fuels and acids, plus impact, equipment and heavy traffic.
Untreated concrete stains, cracks and splits over time, and replacing it costs far more than protecting it. A full epoxy system prevents substrate damage and chemical contamination and cuts cleaning and maintenance costs. Epoxy also comes in a wide range of colors and decorative options.
Epoxy flooring is specified as a system, with different primers, intermediate coats and topcoats. Some handle heavy water and even submersion. Others resist chemicals, caustics and acids. A build coat mainly holds broadcast aggregate and adds little performance.
Most epoxy systems include urethane. Depending on turnaround, jobsite conditions and performance needs, a system may have only one or two layers of actual epoxy or urethane.
Polyaspartic urethane is the usual topcoat: high performing, non-yellowing and UV resistant. A high traffic urethane (HTU) adds a durable, slip and scratch resistant coat above the base system.
Most epoxy is not a moisture control material and can fail under high moisture drive. If calcium chloride testing exceeds 3 pounds of MVT, or RH probes read above 75%, a moisture mitigation system goes in first.
That is an added cost, but a moisture block primer can replace the primer, and sometimes the body coat, in your original bid.
