Warehouse Flooring
Concrete is often overlooked for preventative maintenance because it is a hard substance. In reality, it is a very porous material and susceptible to damage caused by moisture, stains and heavy or high traffic if it’s left as a bare surface. We offer a variety of light, medium and heavy duty floor coatings and sealers in addition to concrete hardeners and densifiers. Western Concrete Coatings matches the correct flooring system with the floor usage in your facility to decrease your total cost of ownership by making sure the correct coatings system is being installed.

Warehouse floors have a wide range of uses from light use up to high wear and heavy duty industrial uses. The floor coating system that will work best, will also vary depending on your floor usage.
Dust is often a major issue in warehouses. Once the existing concrete becomes worn, it is difficult to keep the floor clean since untreated concrete is a porous material. Installing a dust proof coating greatly improves the clean-ability of a warehouse floor. Solutions for this problem include polishing or a thin mil coating that is either clear or pigmented. Sealed concrete with natural concrete look can be extremely cost effective for warehouse floors with light use. Polished concrete has become a popular floor treatment that can be used in almost all of these situations.
Light reflection is another benefit of coating a warehouse floor. Many coatings brighten a warehouse without adding additional lighting. The area will brighten with a clear coat but a pigmented coating, like light grey, helps brighten a space even more.
Improving safety in a warehouse is an ongoing concern. Traffic patterns and/or safety striping can be used to isolate pedestrian, forklift, storage areas, and shipping areas to improve safety for pedestrians.
When a warehouse floor falls on the high wear and heavy duty spectrum, there are additional options to fulfill those needs as well. If the floor needs protection from gas, oil or other chemicals, there are several flooring systems available that will resist damage from exposure to those elements. In addition, loading docks are another typical problem area we find. Loading docks have high wear, heavy duty industrial, pallet usage and heavy forklift traffic so they definitely need a flooring system that can withstand that level of usage.
Heavily damaged old concrete, large cracks, spalling were repaired before installing a flooring system in the warehouse area for an HVAC company. Their floor had to be able to withstand abuse from work trucks driving in and out all day and equipment being moved around daily. In addition, they wanted a flooring systems that would give them increased clean-ability, and it needed to be decorative. We provided a flooring solution that fulfilled all these requirements and has held up since 2005.
There are many options available that will improve the functionality of a warehouse floor. We’re here to provide an expert evaluation of your situation and determine the appropriate preparation and flooring systems that will maximize your concrete coating performance.
